Taylor Swift, Matty Healy short lived romance comes to an end
Taylor Swift and Matty Healy have parted ways just as suddenly as they began dating early last month, according to a report by TMZ. Rumours of their romance first began circulating in early May during Swift’s ongoing Eras Tour and just weeks after her split with long-term boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn, became public news.
As per inside sources, the whirlwind romance was bound to end as abruptly as it had started with one person reported by People as claiming: “She had fun with him, but it was always casual”.
During their short-lived relationship, neither of the singers or their representatives went on record to confirm or deny the rumours that were making the rounds, but many fans picked up on what they believed to be “clues” confirming their romantic involvement—with the most convincing incident being that of Swift and Healy allegedly mouthing hidden messages of love to each other during their respective concerts.
The All Too Well singer and The 1975 lead vocalist have known each other for years and were previously linked by media outlets back in 2014. Although the rumours back then were not substantiated and eventually fizzled out, recent speculations about their romance were informally validated when the couple were spotted together in public and on dates multiple times in between Swift’s tour performances. They were also reportedly seen kissing at a members-only venue Zero Bond in New York City with simultaneous reports of Healy having been spotted leaving Swift’s NYC townhouse.
What further gave legitimacy to the rumoured romance was the fact that Healy attended all six of the Love Story singer’s concerts in Nashville and Philadelphia and was even seen accompanying Swift’s father Scott Swift and friends Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid at one of her performances.
News of the Wildest Dreams and Somebody Else singers’ split comes weeks after Swift’s fans began criticising her online for her choice to date Healy, a somewhat controversial figure in the music industry who has gotten in trouble in the far and recent past for passing politically incorrect and offensive statements.
Both parties have yet to comment on the situation.
