PM meets world leaders in Türkiye

Shehbaz discusses bilateral ties, cooperation at President Erdogan's inauguration ceremony

ANKARA:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday, during his recent visit to Türkiye, met with different world leaders and discussed bilateral ties and cooperation between Pakistan and their respective countries.

The prime minister arrived in Ankara on Friday on a two-day official visit to attend a ceremony marking the re-election of Recep Tayyip Erdogan as the country’s president. He attended the ceremony on Saturday.

During the meetings, the prime minister outlined the government’s vision to facilitate foreign direct investment and encourage joint ventures.

The exchanges spanned around expanding trade and investment ties to maximise mutual gains from available opportunities in Pakistan and enhance cooperation in key sectors of the economy through the direct presence of Turkish enterprises and via joint ventures with Pakistani counterparts.

Today, the prime minister met former deputy prime minister of Türkiye and Chairman MHP Devlet Bahceli and conveyed his felicitation over success in the elections, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release on Sunday.

On the occasion, he also met with Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu. Both leaders reiterated their desire to promote bilateral relations and cooperation in different fields.

The prime minister also interacted with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber.

The PM referred to the establishment of a market at the Balochistan-Sistan border and his recent meeting with the Iranian president.

Welcoming the commencement of barter trade between the two countries, the premier expressed the confidence that it would mutually benefit the people of both brotherly countries.

In his meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the two leaders discussed regional cooperation, connectivity and further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.

Yesterday, the PM also invited Turkish businessmen to invest in Pakistan and establish strategic collaboration in sectors of energy, agriculture, information technology and construction.

The chief executives of Turkish business groups called on the premier in Ankara, during his visit to Türkiye.
