KARACHI:

The top bureaucrat of the province said Friday that the SHO concerned will be held responsible if encroachment reappear in any area.

Sindh Chief Secretary Dr Sohail Rajput was chairing a meeting on the issues of encroachments and water theft in Karachi.

The meeting decided to take stringent measures to tackle water theft through illegal hydrants and encroachment.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon, officials from the Malir Development Authority (MDA), Karachi Development Authority (KDA, Lyari Development Authority (LDA), Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, police, and Rangers.

During the meeting, the reports of encroachments on the lands of MDA, KDA, and LDA were were presented.
