Suspected robber injured in ‘encounter’

Besides the stolen motorbike, police also recovered a pistol and Rs15,000 in cash from the possession of the robber

Alleged criminals robbed Ilyas of his motorcycle at gunpoint near Khanuana Chowk in the Sadar Police Station area and fled.

Meanwhile, ASI Muhammad Hussein signaled them to stop, who was at Awanwala Chowk, but the suspects opened fire on the police team instead of stopping.

Meanwhile, an Elite Force team patrolling Satiana Road pursued the suspects who dumped the motorbike near Orchard Home Gate and opened fire on the police party.

One of the suspects, Sanaullah alias Sunny, a resident of Jhanda Peer, was injured during the gunfire with the police, but his accomplice Zeeshan alias Shani, a resident of 253 Rabb Jhok Kharlan, fled.

Besides the stolen motorbike, police also recovered a pistol and Rs15,000 in cash from the possession of the injured robber before they shifted him to the hospital.

Police claimed that Sanaullah had a criminal history, and that more than 16 robbery cases had been filed against him.

The Saddar Police registered a case against the injured and escaped robbers and started the interrogation process.
