Two terrorists killed in North Waziristan IBO

Terrorists remained actively involved in activities against security forces, killing of innocent citizens, says ISPR

At least two terrorists were killed in an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) launched by security forces in general area Dossali of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district on reported presence of militants on Wednesday, the military said.

During conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange occurred between security forces and terrorists, resulting in killing of two terrorists, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens.

Sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area, the military’s media wing further said.

Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism, it added.

Earlier this month, at least four people, including three security personnel, were martyred in a blast that reportedly targetted Liaquat Checkpost in North Waziristan.

Two others, namely Hawaldar Manzoor and policeman Shakir, were injured in the attack.

According to the police, the attack claimed the lives of two security personnel, one police officer and one citizen in Datta Khel tehsil of Miran Shah.
