Murree to get parking plazas

Proposals for suitable locations sought

Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatha has directed the authorities concerned to submit a detailed report for the construction of two parking plazas at suitable locations in Murree.

According to a spokesperson, a committee has been formed to finalise the Murree ofinstructed the director of development and executive engineer (Xen) for building to visit Murree and submit a detailed proposal in the next meeting for the construction of two parking plazas at suitable locations.

The commissioner also sought an update on the progress of work on three bypasses of Murree - Dadyal, Bustan Mor, and Bansara Gali to Kali Mitti – at the next meeting. He also issued instructions to improve facilities at the National Park of Murree and Kotli Sattian.

The spokesperson said that forest department was instructed to launch a strategic tree plantation campaign for Murree.

The campaign would be launched in a manner that would facilitate tourists and keep in mind the convenience and ease of movement of the local people.

The commissioner also instructed the meteorological department to send timely weather forecasts to the departments concerned and all the departments should develop close liaison with each other.
