Taxila police nab one of two brothers after father alleges torture over monetary dispute

TAXILA:

Taxila police arrested a man for subjecting his father to torture and hurling death threats at him and his wife.

The victim filed an application at Taxila police station that his sons, Talat, Shahroz and Bilal threatened him with dire consequences for not giving money. On the complaint, City Police Officer Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, directed Taxila police to register a case under the Parental Protection Ordinance and arrest the accused.

The police arrested Bilal while efforts are underway to arrest the other brothers of the accused.

"The accused who violates the sanctity of relationships will definitely be punished." SP Potohar said violence against parents would not be tolerated.

On the same day, in an operation against criminal elements, Rawalpindi Police busted a gang and arrested two dacoits including the ringleader. They also recovered cash, weapons and other items from their possession.
