Beauty in black: 'Diriliş: Ertuğrul' star Esra Bilgic attends Cannes Film Festival 2023

Turkish actor Esra Bilgic, known for her performance as Halime Sultan in Diriliş: Ertuğrul, is now walking crosswalks in France - and looking damn good while at it. The face of Victoria’s Secret in Turkey is currently attending the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

On Monday, Bilgic took to Instagram to share pictures from her day out in Cannes and used the hashtag ‘Cannes Film Festival’ in the caption.

Dressed in a short one-shoulder body-fitted black dress, she posed for the camera making a straight face. Wearing translucent black leggings and stilettos, the actor kept her hair up in a loose claw clip bun and wore black sunglasses to accessorise. The chic black dress was a safe and fashionable choice.

She later posted pictures on her Instagram Stories from a Nespresso event. Bilgic sported an off-shoulder sequined black dress for the night too.

Bilgic last attended the prestigious festival in 2021 while she was working with a luxe diamond company. There’s not much known about why she is in Cannes this year. “Are you starring in a movie there?” asked a user. Another commented on her dress, “Looks like she’s going to a hot funeral. Not sure if the dress is appropriate for daylight though.”

Pakistanis, too, flocked to the comments section with their misogynist takes on how “their Halime Sultan” cannot wear such “immodest” clothes. “I don’t like these types of clothes,” wrote a user, while another went a little too personal.”You are Muslim, right? Are you not afraid of Allah, girl, your end will be terrible.”
