PTI workers, leader get bails

ISLAMABAD:

A division bench of Islamabad High Court comprising Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir approved bail applications of six Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers, who had been booked in cases in connection with an attack and vandalism at the Islamabad judicial complex during the court appearance of former prime minister Imran Khan.

 Cases against PTI workers have been registered at the CTD police station and Golra police station. After hearing arguments from lawyers, the court approved the bail pleas of six arrested workers.

Meanwhile, IHC judge Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani extended the security bail of PTI leader Shandana Gulzar in a case filed by the FIA.

During the hearing, the court inquired whether Shandana Gulzar has been included in the investigation. Her lawyer answered in the affirmative. He said that when the FIA was asked about the charges against his client, the FIA said that the investigating officer was sick. Assistant Attorney General Usman Ghaman said that there was no FIR against Shandana Gulzar. He said that the FIA has called Shandana Gulzar as a witness. The court extended the security bail of the PTI leader till May 25.
