A political activist, Muhammad Naeem, narrowly escaped assassination attempt in Karachi as the pistol used by the alleged attacker failed to fire though he tried it twice.
The incident, captured on CCTV and went viral on social media on Monday, shows Naeem walking on a street when the attacker, wearing a coloured helmet, runs up from behind and attempts to shoot him.
However, the bullet gets jammed in the gun's chamber, and the assailant cocks the pistol again but it fails to fire again.

Naeem manages to run away while the attacker flees the scene as well.

Police suspect that the attempt on Naeem's life could be related to his recent switch in political parties. They are currently investigating and obtaining CCTV footage from the suspect's location.
