Funds: ECP submits report in SC

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has submitted a progress report to the Supreme Court (SC) on the issue of providing funds of Rs21 billion for the general elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

The electoral body informed the court about the non-provision of funds by the government.

In the two-page progress report, the court has been informed about the non-supply of funds by the federal government.

The apex court had issued a notice to the ECP secretary for the report related to the funds.

The top court has also issued a notice to the Ministry of Finance, seeking a report on the issue of the release of funds.
