KARACHI:

The embassy of Ethiopia and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) have agreed to hold “Ethiopia-Pakistan Business Forum” in Karachi during the second week of May to boost bilateral trade by connecting business communities of the two countries.

The decision was made during a meeting between Ethiopian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Jemal Beker Abdula and TDAP Chief Executive Zubair Motiwala on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Abdula said the forum would not only help business communities of both countries to work out a comprehensive strategy for bolstering bilateral trade, but also enable them to establish strong linkages.

The forum would provide an opportunity to the business community to highlight business, trade and investment opportunities in different sectors of Ethiopia and Pakistan, he underlined.

Ethiopian envoy told TDAP chairman that Ethiopian Airlines would start its flight operations from Karachi to Addis Ababa and vice versa on May 9 to connect Pakistan with not only with Ethiopia, but also with the entire Africa.

TDAP chief executive also expressed strong interest in arranging the business forum, which he described as crucial for strengthening business-to-business and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
