LAHORE:

PTI President and former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has claimed that the privilege committee can neither summon any judge nor bring their matters under focus.

He was talking to media after attending proceedings of his pre-arrest bail in Rs125 million corruption case.

The anti-corruption court judge extended his bail till April 28 and reserved decision on it.

Lambasting the Sharif family, Elahi said, “it has been the history of the Sharif family who does everything but without applying mind”.

“PML-N does politics full of revenge and their whole politics relies on political victimisation”, he said.

The PTI president noted that he did not get any case register against the PML-N while being in power but the present caretaker set up had “broken all records” by filing “false cases” against the PTI and its leadership.

He said joining PTI was a correct decision.

The Punjab Anti-Corruption had registered an FIR against Elahi, his son Moonis, Muhammad Khan Bhatti and others for allegedly receiving Rs125 million kickbacks through Lahore Waste Management Company, from a foreign company.

The former Punjab chief minister was accused of receiving an amount of Rs65 million.
