Flower vendors have set up temporary stalls near all major graveyards as a lot of people visit graveyards on Eidul Fitr to remember their loved ones.
These stalls have been erected all across the street markets, including the main markets for the next three days, from Saturday (today) to Monday.
The prices of rose petals and floral wreaths have also climbed significantly.
In the open market, the cost of fresh rose leaves has risen to Rs400 per kilogramme. A standard wreath of artificial flowers this year costs Rs250 while a little better wreath costs Rs350. A beautiful and big wreath made of artificial flowers costs Rs1,000, according to flower vendors.
Fresh flower leaves are being sold at Rs400 per kilogramme, green flower leaves cost Rs350 per kilogrammes and mixed flower leaves cost Rs300 per kilogrammes.
A fresh floral wreath is available for Rs2,000. A bottle of rose water is being sold for Rs200 and the candles cost is Rs300. Due to inflation, the majority of people are considering only visiting the graves of their loved ones and praying for their souls without spreading flower leaves at their graves.
