Govt officials, SHO among five injured in firing by land grabbers

Armed men opened fire on officials of the Sindh Revenue Department and police who were vacating a disputed piece of land in 103 Mori, near Thatta, on Wednesday. Five people, including the SHO Thatta and Tapedar, were injured in the firing.

As per details, the Sessions Court Thatta, while hearing a case on a land dispute, had ordered the authorities to vacate nine acres of state land from grabbers.

A heavy contingent of police and Revenue Department officials reached the site to comply with the court orders, but the land grabbers put up stiff resistance.

Armed men opened fire on them, injuring five people, including Tapedar Alamdar Shah, SHO Thatta Allah Dino Panhwar, police officer Haider, and lady police constable Sahiba. The injured were taken to hospitals in Makli and Karachi, where Alamdar Shah was reported to be in a critical condition due to a bullet wound to his head.
