My accounts were hacked: Saeeda Imtiaz posts statement amidst death rumours

The actor has addressed the situation in a video

Entertainment Desk April 19, 2023

Social media was sent into a frenzy on Tuesday when sudden news of actor and model Saeeda Imtiaz’s death broke. Posts shared on her official Facebook and verified Instagram accounts stated that she had been “found dead in her room.” However, the actor has gone on to clear the air in a video statement on her socials.

“My official statement,” wrote Imtiaz. “After all that I went through, I'm drained out at the moment.” The video she has posted sees her address the entire situation, breaking down everything that happened and how it impacted her family.

The Tamasha Ghar star begins the video by introducing herself and stating that she is completely fine. “I have to state with a lot of disappointment that when I woke up today, I received many messages,” she continued. “I, myself, did not understand what had happened to me. It was very shocking. It was a very worrying situation for my family because they do not live here. My siblings, and mother panicked and I started receiving calls. I didn’t know what I should say.”

Imtiaz explained further, “My Facebook and Instagram accounts were hacked as they were linked. I don’t understand - I understand to the extent where people tease you, and bully you - but to hurt someone to this extent, where their family is affected, and the person is mentally affected - this is not right. You never know what the other person is going through already in their life and to mentally torture someone - I was just crying. My family was visited by people to see if I was fine or not because no one knew what was happening.”

“I will find out who hacked my account and I’ll make sure I take action against them,” she continues after a cut in the video. “May God do better for you and give you guidance.”

Yesterday, several sources, including industry insiders that gave exclusive information to Express Tribune, claimed that Imtiaz is alive and well. The same was also been shared by actor Saim Ali, who posted a picture with the actor, stating, "Alhamdulillah, my friend is perfectly fine and it was fake news." Actor and Tamasha Ghar host Adnan Siddiqui also took to social media to term the news fake.

“Highly irresponsible, peddling lies about someone’s death. In the quest to be the fastest and first to report, truth is always the biggest casualty. Media houses, entertainment websites, and social media pages need to be more responsible and proactive in fact-checking. May you have a long life, Saeeda Imtiaz! P.S. Her Instagram handle was hacked,” wrote the star.
