Imran sees PM being disqualified for contempt

PTI chief says rulers are creating wrong tradition by disobeying court orders

LAHORE:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said that first Yousuf Raza Gillani was disqualified for contempt of court and now Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also face the same fate.

In a meeting with PTI Central President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi at Zaman Park on Tuesday, Imran said, “Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa will file a petition in the Supreme Court on behalf of the chief ministers.”

By disobeying the court's decision, the PTI chief said, the rulers were creating a wrong tradition.
Elahi said, “Every unconstitutional tactic is being used to stop the election. The incompetent rulers will have to answer for every unconstitutional move.”

Separately, former federal ministers Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Brig (retd) Ijaz Shah, former provincial ministers Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, Bao Rizwan, Chaudhry Liaquat Ali Bhaddar, former adviser to Punjab CM Dr Zain Bhatti, Barrister Arham Tariq Butt, Barrister Aziz, Barrister Hamza, Salman Khan and Farrukh Advocate called on Elahi.

In the meeting, the current political situation and the elections in Punjab were discussed in detail.
Elahi said, “The Election Commission, State Bank and parliament are playing the game of ‘Kaleemullah to Samiullah’.”

Both brothers in the national hockey team were famous for passing the ball to each other and scoring the goal.

According to the order of the Supreme Court, Elahi said, the Election Commission would have to give the allocated money in any case.

“Shehbaz Sharif has been guilty of contempt of court and now the decision is awaited,” he said.

“Everyone has to follow the Constitution and law for stability and protection of democracy.”

Elahi said that the supply of free flour would be the biggest scandal in the history of the country. “The smuggling of flour, sugar, and fertiliser has increased during the caretaker Punjab government and unelected representatives are causing the postponement of public welfare projects.”

During the four-year tenure of Imran, Elahi said, the country was on the path of development.

“Imran Khan increased the sanctity of the green flag at home and abroad. Imran Khan condemned the atrocities on Muslims, including in Kashmir, at the international level and highlighted in front of the world. Inshallah, the journey of development will start again from where it stopped.”
