Police op in riverine area continues

Four suspected criminals have been killed and another eight arrested during a police operation in the Kacha area that entered its seventh day on Saturday.

Rajanpur District Police Officer (DPO) Mahr Nasir Sial told the media that the operation was ongoing and police teams had demolished hideouts belonging to the Sukhani gang in Kachi Mora and Kacha Jamal.

He said police posts had been established in the area with the national and police flags hoisted.

The DPO said another suspected criminal had been killed in the operation, raising the total number of suspects killed to four.

Likewise, eight people who allegedly facilitated the criminals were arrested.

A police officer was injured a gunfight with criminals.

Sial said that the interior riverine area was being cleared through search operations.
