I was told getting married would hinder growth: Tekken star Arslan Ash shades naysayers
Arslan Ash, the renowned Pakistani Fighting Games player, recently tied the knot with his better half in a joyous ceremony in February 2023. The Tekken prodigy took to social media to share pictures from his mehndi event, where he posed with his spouse. The couple opted for colour-coordinated outfits that left their fans in awe of their style and elegance.
However, Ash has shared an update on Twitter, hitting back at all those who believed getting married would hinder his progress. "I was told getting married would hinder my growth as a player. It turns out, it did the opposite," stated the gamer, alongside a note that he attached with the tweet.
"A lot of players - both locally and internationally suggest that in order to be focused towards the game, one must delay getting married," said Ash. "I know it's not been long but I feel a lot more at ease ever since I've tied the knot. My life is a lot more balanced and I'm enjoying a much healthier lifestyle. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), I've also got a very understanding partner who helps me keep a good balance between my gaming and my family. Also, I was suffering a brief rough patch until recently, lady luck brought the Evo back I suppose."
Arslan, who is widely known as one of the best Tekken players in the world, has represented Twisted Minds and Red Bull eSports. He has won three EVO championships, including Tekken 7 at EVO Japan 2019, EVO 2019, and EVO Japan 2023. The Lahore-based e-athlete has played a significant role in putting the Pakistani fighting game community into the mainstream spotlight.
Arslan first became an overnight sensation when he won both EVO Japan and EVO USA consecutively in the same year, 2019. Since then, he has been declared the ESPN Esports Player of the Year 2019 and has continued to win victories in Tekken competitions worldwide.
