KARACHI:

A clash between two groups of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) officers left two persons injured. Windows of the office were also broken during the clash while both sides used kicks and punches on each other.

The situation was normalised after the security personnel intervened. Both groups submitted applications in Newtown police station.  According to the details, tension has been going on for several days between two groups of officers in SBCA. A group of officers on Thursday entered the SBCA director general's office and submitted a written complaint against a building officer who allegedly takes bribe and demanded action against him. The said officer was so powerful that anyone disobeying him would end up being transferred to a far-away area of rural Sindh, they told the DG.

Both the groups came face to face on Friday. The situation became tense that led to a clash between them. Windows of an office were shattered. The security personnel intervened and brought the situation under control.

Later, both the groups reached New Town police station and submitted the application. A case was registered on the complaint of Shehzad Arain, building officer of SBCA in which former SBCA director Jameel Memon, deputy director Agha Jahangir, and other SBCA officers and some employees were nominated as accused while Agha Jahangir submitted a petition against Shahzad Arain.
