12 vloggers held over ‘harassment’

Victim, fellow community members were distributing free HIV and STI tests

At least 12 YouTubers were arrested by Data Darbar police over allegedly harassing transgenders and looting cash and valuables from them.

A victim identified as Mohsin Javed alias Maham alleged that she and fellow community members were distributing free HIV AIDS and STI tests in collaboration with Dostana Mail Health Society, when a group of YouTubers approached them.

The YouTubers reportedly started asking vulgar questions and when the transgender persons asked them to stop, they started hurling abuse and misbehaving with them.

Eventually the incident became physical, with the YouTubers allegedly attacking them, breaking a mobile phone and snatching an identity card and purse from their team members.

The booked suspects were identified as Naem Nadeem, Usman, Zubair, Mujahid Ali, Ansar Bhatti, Saleem Haider, Shoib Khan, Malik Ali, Muhammad Bilal, Ali Muhammad and Tanveer, along with four unidentified suspects.

Police registered a case and also arrested the suspects.
