LAHORE:

Lahore High Court’s Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh has summoned former chief minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar on April 17 for the hearing of a writ petition he had filed seeking details of the FIRs registered and inquiries pending against him.

The petitioner also sought direction to restrain the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment director general, his subordinates and all directorates from taking any coercive measures, apprehending, harassing and arresting him till the disposal of the petition.

As the proceedings commenced, the petitioner's counsel contended that false FIRs are being registered against him.

Counsel Mian Ali Ashfaq told the court that his client had health issues. He sought time for the PTI leader’s appearance before the court.

Buzdar alleged in his petition that the federal government along with the caretaker set-up in Punjab had started using government agencies, institutions and departments as tool and registering frivolous FIRs against various leaders and workers of the PTI including its leadership.

The petitioner, apprehending vindictive and politically motivated cases at the hands of the ACE had earlier requested the authority to provide him the details of any pending complaints, inquiries and FIRs against him.
