FAISALABAD:

A man committed suicide after being threatened to leave his maternal uncle’s house. Police handed over the body to the victim’s relatives and registered a report of accidental death.

Police said Muhammad Iqbal, 32, was living with his maternal uncle Liaquat Ali in Chak 508 GB of Mamu Kanjan for a long time. After Liaquat’s death in 2021, Muhammad Iqbal took the same residence with Liaquat’s wife, Yasmin.

On April 11, Muhammad Iqbal had a bitter argument with Yasmin Bibi over an unknown issue, after which Yasmin called her brother Qurban Ali in Sahiwal and informed him about the situation.

Qurban came to the house with his sisters Muzamal Bibi and Zahida Bibi and asked Mohammad Iqbal to leave. Qurban and Iqbal reportedly had a bitter exchange, after which Iqbal grew upset and consumed poisonous pills. The doctors referred him to DHQ Hospital Sahiwal for treatment, where he died.

As soon as the information was received, Mamu Kanjan police reached the spot and took the body of the deceased Muhammad Iqbal and after taking necessary action, handed it over to his heirs and registered a case under Section 174 DF.
