A witness was cross-examined in the murder trial of Canadian citizen Sara Inam before the court of Islamabad District and Sessions Judge Atta Rabbani while the statement of another witness was recorded.
During Tuesday’s hearing of the Sara Inam murder case, the counsel for the prime accused, Basharat Ullah, finished cross-examining police officer Sarfaraz.
Subsequently, FIA official Salman Riaz, who recorded prime accused Shahnawaz Amir’s voice sample for forensic analysis, appeared before the court. Prosecutor Rana Hassan Abbas got the statement of the FIA official recorded in the court.
In his statement, the FIA official stated that the USBs containing voice samples of the accused were given to him by the police.
“The main accused, Shahnawaz Amir's, voice samples were examined for audio matching. From Forensic, the accused’s voice sample was matched,” he told the court.
“The voice matching of the accused supports the prosecution's case,” the FIA official said and added that the forensic report regarding the voice of the accused was handed over to the investigating officer.
After the statement of the FIA official was recorded, the court adjourned the hearing of the case till April 19.
