Punjab Local Government Secretary Dr Irshad Ahmed has announced completion of the development work of Soy Asal Model Cemetery in Lahore has been completed in record time.

He was visiting the cemetery on Wednesday to observe the construction of the boundary wall, ablution and funeral prayers halls.

The secretary also visited the model cemeteries being constructed at Ahlu, Gunj Sharif and Raiwand Road.

Dr Irshad Ahmed instructed the local government department chief engineer that the work on the Model Cemetery on Raiwind Road should also be completed by April 30.

He said the Ahlu Model Cemetery should also be completed on schedule by doubling the number of labourers and working in day and night shifts.

He announced that the Soy Aasil Model Cemetery would be made functional soon.

“It has been completed as per the deadline whereas the finishing work will also be done in a couple of days,” he added.

The secretary was informed that construction of the boundary wall of Ahlu Model Cemetery was in final stage.
