Bulletproof imports: Salman Khan amps up security amidst threats to his life

The ‘Dabangg’ star is taking all necessary precautions

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has received death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, which prompted the actor to upgrade his security measures. Bishnoi sent an email to Khan, demanding an apology to his group, threatening that he will face consequences otherwise.

Bishnoi later openly threatened Khan in an interview, stating that he would kill the actor, much like Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala. Following the threats, the actor's personal assistant received a threatening email from Bishnoi's aide, prompting tighter security around Khan's home.

To further enhance his security, Salman Khan has imported a new bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV, which has not yet been officially launched in India, as per Pinkvilla. The new vehicle reportedly offers a high level of security, with either a B6 or B7 level of ballistic protection. B6 offers protection against high-powered rifles with 41 mm thick glass, while B7 protects against armour-piercing rounds with 78 mm thick glass.

This is not the first time the actor has upgraded his security measures. Last year, he switched to a Toyota Land Cruiser LC200, which was also upgraded with bulletproof glass. The actor's close friend has filed a complaint at the Bandra Police station regarding the death threats.

Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently in jail, admitted in an interview that his goal in life is to kill the Kick star. The actor is one of the most loved and popular figures in Bollywood, with a massive fan following. The threats against him have caused concern among his fans and the industry as a whole.
