Crops destroyed: Low-level floods in Sutlej and Kabul

Officials say 7, 000 cusecs of additional water damage standing crops.

The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) on Saturday said River Sutlej and Kabul are flowing at low flood levels at Ganda Singh Wala and at Warsak respectively.

The water level in River Sutlej is likely to rise, as the flood flow range will remain between 69,000 cusecs and 75,000 cusecs during the next 24 hours.

Officials said 7, 000 cusecs of additional water damaged standing crops including cotton spread over an area of 3,000 acres. Residential areas and villages however remained safe.

Authorities have nonetheless asked villagers to safer places as a precautionary measure. River Kabul is flowing in low flood with a falling trend at Warsak with a flow of approximately 30,000 cusecs. All other rivers, including Indus, Jhelum, Chenab and Ravi, are flowing normally.
