Indian actor Taapsee Pannu has been hit with a complaint by the religious outfit Hind Rakshak Sangathan for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments, as reported by The Indian Express.

A complaint has been filed against the Haseen Dilruba actor for wearing a necklace with Goddess Lakshmi’s sculpture, paired with what the complainant described as revealing clothing. The group has accused Pannu of severely hurting religious emotions and spreading obscenity.

The complainant in question was Eklavya Singh Gaur, the convener of the Hind Rakshak Sangathan Indore, who is also the son of BJP MLA Malini Gaur. The police have confirmed that they have received a complaint from Eklavya Gaur against the star on the basis of hurting religious sentiments and the image of the Hindu religion.

Pannu had posted a picture and a video on her Instagram account on March 14 from the ramp walk at Lakme Fashion Week held on March 12 in Mumbai. "When will this red colour leave me?" the Judwaa 2 star asked as she shared a photo of the look.

The outfit was created by designer Ritu Kumar, and the Indian actor was the showstopper for her collection. The ensemble included a red blazer with a plunging neckline and a skirt with a thigh-high slit. She accessorised it with a necklace featuring the image of Goddess Lakshmi, which appears to have been the source of the controversy. Pannu is yet to react or issue a statement on the legal action.
