Senior Express News journalists Aamir Rana, Javed Chaudhary receive top civil awards
The President of Pakistan has honoured Express News Islamabad bureau chief Aamir Ilyas Rana with the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz and Express News TV anchor and columnist Javed Chaudhary with the Sitara-i-Imtiaz for their meritorious services in the field of journalism.
President Dr Arif Alvi conferred Pakistan’s top civilian awards on 135 citizens as well as foreign nationals on Pakistan Day (March 23), in recognition of their excellence and gallantry in their respective fields.
The awards were conferred at an investiture ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr (President House) and attended by cabinet members, diplomats, and the recipients' families.
Express News bureau chief Aamir Ilyas Rana, also a senior analyst on the TV program ‘Experts,’ received the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz in recognition of his valuable services in the field of journalism.
During the ceremony, President Alvi commended Rana for his astute understanding of both domestic and international affairs, including his coverage of major events such as the United Nations General Assembly, the historic Agra Summit, and the International Donors' Conference on Afghanistan in Japan, as well as the Azerbaijan parliamentary elections and other global affairs.
Javed Chaudhary, a senior anchor, writer, and columnist for Express News, was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz for his contributions to journalism.
Chaudhary has been hosting the political talk show 'Kal Tak' on Express News for a long time and has been writing columns for over two decades, which have also been compiled and published in book form. He is also the author of several books and runs his own current affairs website.
President Alvi honoured Chaudhary with the Sitara-i-Imtiaz in recognition of his journalistic services.
