Gill left red-faced after getting it wrong on Hina Pervaiz's scholastic endeavors
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hina Pervaiz Butt posting an image infront of a laptop caused a furore on Twitter on Tuesday.
Hina posted the picture to announce that she had passed the Graduate Record Examinations and would be “resuming her student life by commencing MPhil in Education.”
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Shahbaz Gill jumped the gun by quote retweeting the post calling her “a liar”.
“One cannot take the GRE test from home. Candidates are required to take the test at specified examination centres— you can only do modelling from home.” Gill went on to say.
However, Gill was forced to eat his words, as she hit back at the former special assistant to the prime minister.
“I secured admission in MPhil only after passing the GRE test. Posting a picture does not necessarily mean I was taking the exam as the picture was taken. (You) should have asked someone before tweeting.”
The back and forth of the spat did not end here as Gill replied again by correcting Butt. “One does not pass or fail the GRE test but scores a percentile.”
