Srinagar Highway faces traffic congestion
The mismanagement of car queues at a weekly bazaar in Sector H-9 is resulting in traffic congestion on the Srinagar Highway. Despite being a popular shopping destination, the lack of proper coordination and management is causing visitors to park their vehicles haphazardly, primarily along the highway, service road, and 9th avenue.
This situation leads to an overflow of cars at the entrance and exit of the parking lot, particularly on Sundays, causing a significant traffic burden on both officials and market staff. The disordered parking system is causing inconvenience to the visitors and contributing to the traffic congestion in the area. Therefore, it is imperative to address this issue and develop an effective parking management system to mitigate traffic congestion and provide a better shopping experience for visitors.
According to a visitor named Kashif Raza, the parking lot at the bazaar is often full, and customers are forced to carry heavy bags of groceries and walk to their cars, which are parked along the main road. He further said that to avoid inconvenience, many citizens park their vehicles on the main road rather than finding a parking spot.
