KARACHI:

Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon condemned the violence against police officers during the recent events in Lahore, which left more than 50 officers injured. He stressed that the police force deserves respect and protection.

Speaking at a press conference held on Saturday, Sharjeel expressed his concern over the recent political crisis in the country.

He said that something unusual has been happening in the country, which has never occurred in the past 75 years.

"While Imran Khan and his party are being granted relief from the courts, the cases of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, who contributed significantly to the country's development, are postponed for an indefinite period", he said.

Memon emphasised that the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) does not seek any favours from the courts.

"We are willing to accept the court's decisions", he said.

He further criticized Imran Khan, stating that he believes himself to be above the law and constitution, and described him as a bully.
