Senator says the 'bloody highway' has killed 6,000 people in 10 years

ISLAMABAD:

The Senate Standing Committee on Communications has called for a report on the accidents that took place on the Quetta-Karachi highway.

The meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Communications was chaired by Prince Ahmed Umar Ahmedzai.

The issue of the death of 41 people in a traffic accident in Lasbela was discussed.

Motorway Police officials told the committee that there are three highways in Balochistan on which Motorway Police are deployed.

Senator Dinesh Kumar said that this “bloody highway” has killed 6,000 people in 10 years.

Senator Kamil Ali Agha said that the name of this highway is “bloody road” and petrol is smuggled through it.

“In these vehicles, the weight of petrol is many times more than the weight of humans, we do not raise our voice with the force we should,” he said.
