PESHAWAR:

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Monday issued a notice to the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) over a petition challenging the dismissal of law officers from the Advocate General’s Office and the appointment of new officials.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Ejaz Anwar and Justice Syed Arshad Ali of the high court heard the writ petition.

The writ has been filed by Advocate Inamullah Khan and other law officers through the mediation of Advocate Shumail Ahmed Butt.

It has been argued in the writ petition that the caretaker government does not have the authority over the matter and questioned under which law the new law officers had been appointed.

Even though the establishment department had disputed the summary, the summary was approved, the petition added.

The court issued a notice to the caretaker provincial government and adjourned the hearing till Tuesday.
