Judicial appointments: Six additional judges recommended for confirmation

ISLAMABAD:



The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has recommended six additional judges of the Sindh High Court for confirmation to the parliamentary committee on Saturday.


Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry chaired the commission’s meeting and proposed the names of Justice Shahid Anwar, Justice Ghulam Sarwar Korai, Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh, Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi and Justice Munib Akhtar. Their tenure was due to expire in September.

The commission sent the names to the parliamentary committee for consideration which will forward its recommendations to the president. The meeting was attended by four senior most judges of the Supreme Court, and Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Mushir Alam.
