Houses of freedom leaders raided in IIOJK
An Indian agency, Enforcement Directorate, along with paramilitary and police personnel, raided the houses of jailed Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) chief patron Zaffar Akbar Bhat and religious leader Qazi Yasir in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Spokesman JKSM Dr Irfan in a statement shared details of the raids by Indian agencies and paramilitary at Bhat’s residence, and added that four raids have been carried out in the last 30 days.
New Delhi probe agency along with Indian paramilitary and police personnel today raided the house of Bhat at Bagh-e-Mehtab in Srinagar.
Dr Irfan added that Bhat is facing illegal detention since August 18, 2019, in different jails, adding that right now he is in Udhampur prison.

While he is in continuous detention since 2019, he said, Indian agencies and forces are carrying out raids at his residence.
During the house raids, the agency took property documents and mobile phones of the family members of the leaders, he added.
Spokesman JKSM said that Bhat was arrested on April 9, 2007, September 11, 2007, May 10, 2016, Oct 20, 2016, May 9 and August 18, 2019. He also suffered a brain haemorrhage during detention in 2020.
On Jan 24, 1995, Indian forces demolished two ancestral houses of Bhat with dynamites, he added.
Dr Irfan further added that Bhat is the elder brother of Altaf Ahmed Bhat who is working at the national and international level for the resolution of the long pending conflict through tripartite dialogue and peaceful settlement as per the aspirations of besieged people of IIOJK and UN resolutions.
Spokesman JKSM added that during the ongoing freedom struggle, Bhat’s family has sacrificed almost 15 family members including their elder brother Haji Abdul Ghani Bhat.
He said that New Delhi, in a bid to put an end to the voice of freedom, used all inhumane and illegal tactics, arbitrary arrests and raids to intimidate Hurriyat leadership but to no avail.
He said that the government of Pakistan, the world community, the developed world, the European Union, OIC, P5, human rights organisations and all freedom-loving countries must come forward and make India stop undemocratic, illegal and inhuman tactics in IIOJK and demilitarise the occupied area and start the process of plebiscite.
