Stray dogs mauled and seriously injured 16 people, including 10 children, within a few hours on Friday. Panic spread throughout the area and the injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Daska.
An emergency situation arose at Civil Hospital when dog bite victims were admitted in rapid succession, including children, youths and a woman in Buddha Goraya and Lalargaon.
Locals panicked and locked themselves in their houses. The condition of three children, including 4-year-old Rawal, is said to be very critical.
Stray dogs mauled 4-year-old Muhibullah while he was playing in the street. When his mother came to his, the dog also attacked and injured her. Meanwhile, dogs attacked another group of children while they were playing.
Six-year-old Ali Hassan, 8-year-old Nabi Ahmed, 25-year-old Rubina, 27-year-old Mudassar, 23-year-old Hussain Baig, 11-year-old Najeebullah, 4-year-old Shahbaz, 7-year-old Abdul Hadi, 36-year-old Muhammad Razzak, 7-year-old Rehan, 52-year-old Munir, 10-year-old Anas Ali, 4-year-old Hareem Fatem, 4-year-old Ali Raza and 10-year-old Muhammad Subhan were all attacked.
Multiple dog attacks were reported in the area, but the administration did not take any action.
Packs of stray dogs roam in front of all government institutions, yet authorities do not act.
Citizens submitted several applications to the administration and said that the administration will be responsible in case of any untoward incident.
