New year, new drama for Asim Azhar! The singer-actor, who won the audience after his cameo in Sinf-e-Aahan, is getting a new serial and it looks like a complete entertainment package. Titled Family Bizniss, the Ramazan special promises to be a light-hearted family drama starring Saife Hasan and Salma Hasan in pivotal roles too.
On Thursday, the multi-talented Fahad Mustafa, who is one of the producers of the show, shared the trailer for Family Bizniss on Instagram. “Get ready because what you were waiting for is finally here. Watch the trailer for Family Bizniss and be ready for the tamasha [spectacle],” he captioned the post. The show will be released on Tamasha Digital.
The two-minute clip is a wholesome package of comedy and drama with a family navigating around starting a new business in times of crisis. The father, played by Hasan, seems to be approaching retirement and like any other parent, is worried about what that means for the family’s finances – especially in economic turmoil.
Azhar, one of the sons, comes up with an idea to create an app for vegetable delivery and the old-family joke returns. Taunting the son, Hasan asks him to differentiate between dhaniya [coriander] and podina [mint]. The trailer then takes an emotional turn when Hasan collapses and we see Azhar apologising to him in the next scene as the former is in bed, pretend-sleeping.
There’s imagination, curiosity and love between the two generations fighting to survive and make a living in hard times while cheering a retired father who has been there without a fail – something that’s relatable for many.
Directed by Bilal Altaf Khan, Family Bizniss features more glimpses into heartwarming moments and comedic exchanges as more of the cast is revealed. The drama stars Mah E Nur Haider, Busha Habib and Hussain Mohsin. Written by Ali and Basit and produced by Mustafa and Dr Ali Kazmi, Family Bizniss will release on the first of Ramazan.
