Newly-wed robbed of jewellery, cash

When Mehwish entered the flat, the cupboard was also open and its locks were broken

Burglars took away gold ornaments and cash worth millions of rupees from a newly-married woman within the limits of Chakiwara Police Station.

Mehwish Kashif told the police in her statement that she lives on the first floor flat of a residential building in Bihar Colony area of Chakiwara, Lyari. She got married on January 28 this year, while her husband had left for his hometown in Sargodha on March 3, after which she was living with her mother in Lyari's Maula Madad area.

On March 7, she visited her flat along with her brother Saqib, and discovered that the lock of the grill was broken. When she entered the flat, the cupboard was also open and its locks were broken.
