Woman allegedly raped, blackmailed

Victim was lured to secluded location under pretext of job offer

KURIANWALA:

A man allegedly lured a woman under the pretext of a job at a hospital, before kidnapping her and moving her to a secluded place. The suspect and accomplices allegedly raped her, filmed the assault and later started blackmailing her with the footage.

Police said a resident of Nishatabad filed a case with Ghulam Mohammadabad police, stating that she works in a local factory. She met Mashood, who called her to the main gate of General Hospital Ghulam Mohammadabad under the pretext of getting her a job at the facility. However, instead of taking her into the hospital, he took her to a house near Dera Sain.

Two unidentified suspects were already present at the house. Mashood and the two accomplices allegedly raped the victim at gunpoint, while they filmed the incident. They threatened the victim that if she told anyone, they would upload the video on social media.

Taking action, police registered a case and started searching for the accused.

This is not the first such incident of a woman being raped under the pretext of getting a job offer. In January 2023, a woman was allegedly gang-raped in Gujjarpura. The victim was lured by the suspects under false pretenses.

The victim reportedly lived in Okara and in her complaint before police, she said that she got in contact with the suspect, Khalil Amir, on Facebook. He introduced himself as the manager of a medicine company and offered her a job. She came to Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital with her cousin to meet Khalil. As she approached a car, three men pushed her cousin away and abducted her at gunpoint.
