Power breakdown hits two KWSB pipelines at Dhabeji

Two pipelines of 72-inch diameter each, Line No 1 and Line No 5, were affected

KARACHI:

A K-Electric power breakdown affected two bulk supply water pipelines at the Dhabeji pumping station on Thursday. According to a spokesperson for the Karachi Water Supply Board (KSWB), the breakdown hit the pumping station at 10:25am.

Although the electricity supply was restored at 1:40pm, two pipelines of 72-inch diameter each, Line No 1 and Line No 5, were affected.

On the instructions of KWSB CEO Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, senior officials, including the chief engineer for bulk, superintending engineer for bulk, and the executive engineer Gharo, rushed to the Dhabeji pumping station to inspect the affected lines. Ahmed directed that the pipelines must be restored on as quickly as possible.
