Gather around, Hamza Ali Abbasi fans; we've got some news for you! While we might not be over the actor's menacing performance as Noori Natt in Bilal Lashari's The Legend of Maula Jatt, he has now announced his much-awaited television comeback.
Abbasi took to social media and shared that he will be returning to the small screen with Jaan-e-Jahan. "Happy to introduce you to the captivating world of our upcoming project Jaan-e-Jahan written by Rida Bilal, directed by Qasim Ali Mureed," an Instagram post read. "Produced by Samina Humayun Saeed and Sana Shahnawaz coming soon on a TV screen near you!"
The teaser sees an introductory message from the makers with superstar Humayun Saeed's captivating narration. In its first look, Jaan-e-Jahan gives off a very Alif vibe - Abbasi's last television project in 2019. The airing date and further details about the 38-year-old star's recently announced project are kept under wraps.
2022, however, has been fruitful for Abbasi's newsworthy career. The Mann Mayal actor's last project, Lashari's magnum opus, has become Pakistan's highest-grossing film of all time. “I was part of this project from the very beginning. I was very excited to do this. I was very excited about Bilal’s vision of executing his idea of Noori. It was easier for me to do this role because I was a part of this project from the start,” Abbasi told The Express Tribune in a previous interview.
Abbasi mentioned that the role was very challenging, still. “The get-up of Noori was exhausting, with Lahore’s heat, the beard, the hair. Filling the shoes of Mustafa Qureshi Sahab was an added pressure. I can call it the most challenging character of my career,” Abbasi added.
