More than 35 sessions were organised on the second day of the 10th Lahore Literary Festival (LLF) at Alhamra Arts Centre on Saturday.
A highlight of the day was a session on ‘The last great Mughal poet Ghalib’, in which Hijaz Naqvi, Anjum Altaf and Faisal Siddique expressed their views.
Book launch events and discussions on travelogues of Pakistani writers, translations of renowned writer Hajra Masroor and a seminar of ‘Sleeping distances’ were also organised.
More than 30 sessions are scheduled for the last day of the festival.
Alhamra Arts Council Chairman Qasim Ali Shah said it was an honour for the institution to host over 200 delegates from around the world. He said that a sea of lovers of literature and culture could be seen at Alhamra, which was a source of joy and pride.
Lahore Arts Council Executive Director Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi said the Alhamra centre had a prominent role in improving the country's soft image. It provides countless literary and cultural activities for the people of Lahore to support and promote art and culture.
The three-day LLF follows the Pakistan Literature Festival and Faiz Festival hosted at the Alhamra centre in recent weeks.
