The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad Zone has arrested three more suspects during its ongoing crackdown against elements involved in running illegal nursing institutes, using Pakistan Nursing Council’s name.
According to officials, a team headed by deputy director Rana Shahid Habib arrested suspects named Asif Mehmood, Abdul Razzaq and Amin Khan in a raid in Islamabad.
The accused were issuing fake nursing diplomas, degrees, and nursing cards to students for huge sums of money, they said.
Officials further said that the accused had registered over 18 fake colleges in Punjab and KP.
The arrested suspects had also set up offices in the Khanna Pul area of the federal capital.
They said the FIA officials recovered dozens of fake degrees, nursing certificates, cards, and certificate-making equipment.
Moreover, color printers and metallic dyes, monogram embossing machines were also recovered from the possession of the accused along with fake seals of government institutions.
The accused had also charged huge fees in the name of online admissions, they added.
Rana Shahid Habib said that the investigation has been started in this regard and the matter would be probed thoroughly.
FIA's additional director general and Islamabad zone director announced cash prizes and appreciation certificates for the team over their performance.
FIA Islamabad Zone Director Rana Jabbar said that the crackdown against illegal nursing colleges and institutions will continue without discrimination.
