Large turnout at LLF

Delegates from 10 countries are participating in the event

The three-day Lahore Literary Festival started at the Alhamra Arts Council on Friday.

A large number of people turned up at the event.

During the sessions held on the first day of the festival, panelists said that for the promotion of language, art and culture, events like the Lahore Literary Festival were very important while they also played an important role in highlighting the soft image of the country.

The LLF was started with a vision to promote literary activities in the country while for the purpose of celebrating this event, halls and lawns of the Alhamra Arts Council were decorated with colourful posters where public was happy to join the LLF activities.

Delegates from 10 countries are participating in the event. The event this time also attracted educationists and students community and students from different universities were present at the LLF events.

“It is a happy thing for us that this is the third consecutive week that we have literary and arts activities in Lahore as earlier we saw the Pakistan Literature Festival and few days ago we saw the International Faiz Festival and now we are attending LLF,” said Professor Dr Munawar Sabir, a writer and a poet.

On first day of the event Executive Director of Alhamra Arts Council Zulifqar Zulfi especially attended the event.

Talking to the media he said that it is wonderful tradition of Alhamra Arts Council to stage such literary events and our purpose is providing a beautiful environment to the public in which they can learn about literature and arts.
