He announced that OMR machines will help in preventing corruption

KARACHI:

Sindh Minister for Education and Culture Syed Sardar Shah has expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the educational boards.

Talking to the media on Monday, the minister said that a change is needed in the traditional methods of education boards to improve their performance.

He announced that Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) machines will be introduced to improve examination processes as the use of technology can help in preventing corruption.

Syed Sardar Shah refuted the allegations against the Culture Department regarding the Pakistan Literature Festival in Lahore, which was organised by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi. He also addressed the issue of the census of private schools, stating that the census had been completed in the rest of the province, with a survey currently underway in Karachi.

Responding to a question on high private school fees, the minister revealed that private schools have been instructed to not to take the fee in advance from parents. He expressed his disappointment with an incident at a school in Hyderabad and vowed to take strict action against those responsible.
