Lift operator dropped his son at school before going to work

His widow, Kausar Parveen is a teacher in a government school

Lift operator Muhammad Saeed was also among those martyred in the terrorist attack on the Karachi Police Office (KPO) on Friday. Saeed, who had eight siblings, has also left behind his wife and two children to mourn his death.

Mohammad Saeed, a resident of Orangi Town, had served the Sindh Police Department for 25 years. His widow, Kausar Parveen is a teacher in a government school.

It was the birthday of Saeed’s 12-year-old son Ayan on Saturday and he had invited a larged number of guests for the celebration. “My father dropped me at school on Friday. I did not know it would be the last time and that I would never speak to him again,” recalled Ayan. “When I grow up I will join the police department like my father and serve the nation,” he added.

Saeed’s second son, six-year-old Rehan, said that his father wanted him to become Hafiz-e-Qura’an. “I will fulfill my father’s wish,” said Rehan while speaking to The Express Tribune. He also wants to “become a police officer and fight terrorists”.

Sabiha, a sister of Saeed, said that how the common people would feel safe in a country where even their protectors were not safe.
