Attack widely condemned

CM monitors situation, opposition demands enforcement of NAP

KARACHI:

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah personally monitored the operation against terrorists at the Karachi Police Office.

According to a spokesperson, the chief minister lauded the courage of all law enforcement agencies and individuals who participated in the operation and prayed for the martyrs.

CM Murad and his team reached the KPO late in the night and took briefing on the ground after the clearing of the premises.

Meanwhile, Governor Kamran Khan Tesori strongly condemned the terrorist attack on KPO and paid tribute to the officers who lost their lives in the operation.

Information Secretary of the opposition alliance GDA Sardar Abdul Rehman also condemned the terrorist attack in his statement. He emphasised that the National Action Plan should be strictly implemented to apprehend the facilitators of the terrorists.

On the instructions of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Khawaja Izhar visited the CPO office, where he met with CM Syed Murad Ali Shah, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon and Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho, and expressed solidarity with Sindh Police for the success of the operation.

The German Consul General Dr Rüdiger said in a communique, "Germany, stands with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism."
