RAWALPINDI:

In an attempt to make the upcoming annual matriculation examination completely transparent, all the education boards of the province, including the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rawalpindi, have decided to install closed-circuit television cameras in the examination centres, transport the question papers under police security and entrust secret checking to the special branch of the police.

Sources said all the examiners will be required to de-seal the question papers in their respective examination centres in presence of the students and the CCTV cameras.

According to sources, the deputy commissioners of all 36 districts will ban the entry of unrelated persons within the area of 100 meters around the examination centres, possession of weapons, protests and gathering of four or more people by imposing section 144 a week ahead of the matriculation examinations, which are starting from April 1.

The sources said that security guards will also be deployed at the examination centres and possession of mobile phones, books, calculators and photocopies by the students, teachers and examinations staff in the examination centres will be prohibited. All the students in the exam centres will be monitored by CCTV cameras.
