Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq has demanded from the establishment that they should never support one party against the other again and give practical proof of their apolitical stance.
Speaking in Rawalpindi, the JI chief said that “thieves” will not be able to compete with JI in the streets and neighbourhoods since ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ is only possible only through them.
Addressing the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), he said that he wants to tell their leadership that there is no need for their speeches.
“Reduce the prices of flour, sugar, ghee, and rice by 50 percent,” he demanded.
He said that all the rulers – Asif Ali Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif, and Imran Khan – should sell their properties and pay the country’s debts.
He rejected the Rs170 billion inclusion in the tax collection target.
He called on the establishment to refrain from supporting “thieves”.
“These rulers failed not once but a hundred times,” the JI chief said. “Their domestic and offshore properties increased alongside the national debt.”
He said that elections are held hostage in this country, while the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is sitting on the mandate of JI in Karachi.
The Election Commission of Pakistan did not conduct the election on eleven vacant seats, he said.
Siraj said that the people will no longer become the scapegoat of judges, bureaucrats, generals, and rulers.
“There is no justice in this country,” he said. “The courts and the whole system are in trouble.”
The JI chief said that during floods, earthquakes, coronavirus, or any other difficulty, only JI supported the nation.
“Give JI a chance; we will protect the rights of the nation, this country is poor because of Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, and Imran, while all of them are rich,” he said, as he highlighted how the people were deceived through slogans.
“Today, Shahbaz Sharif and Arif Alvi are crying that the conditions of the IMF (International Monetary Fund) are strict, so the IMF also asks to bring back the assets from abroad, why do you not bring them?” he asked.
“Who delivered the agricultural industry of Pakistan, who destroyed Kashmir, India, and who handed over Dr Aafia [Siddiqui] to the United States?” he asked, adding that JI is not out for seats, rather they came out for the people.
“Shehbaz Sharif, bring your assets to the country. Tayyab Erdogan did this. The nation came out for it,” he further said. “Because now the dead body of the father of six daughters, who went out to bring flour to the country, has reached home.”
He promised a corruption-free government, unemployment, and old-age allowance if JI came to power.
He called on the people to avoid trusting these “IMF agents”.
He lamented that Bangladesh's currency was better than Pakistan’s. “In IT, we are earning $2.6 billion, and India is earning $267 billion,” he added.
The JI chief said that these governments do nothing to clean up each other's mess, rather they call each other robbers and stomach rippers, then they get together.
The workers of these political parties should ask their leadership what they have delivered, he added.
Siraj said that Sheikh Rashid, who has been a minister eight times, says that his politics revolves around Lai Nullah, but the project of Lai Nullah could not even start.
“The people of Rawalpindi should immerse his politics in Lai Nullah,” he remarked.
